Vintage Wedding Dress Inspiration: Audrey Hepburn - Oscar Dress

Today's dress inspiration is the Givenchy dress worn by Audrey Hepburn to the 1954 Oscars.  It is such a fun little number for a garden wedding and a night filled with dancing.

The entire dress has a sheer overlay with a flocked floral design that has a lovely modest high neckline at the front but then sneakily turns into little spaghetti straps at the back.

The bodice and skirt is underlined in a strapless design and it has a lovely full circle skirt.  To complete the utter gorgeousness of this dress is the matching fabric covered belt.

To top it all off I have had the privilege of creating a recreation of this gown for one of my brides.  For her gown we used floral embroidered silk organza with a dupion silk underlay and of course had a matching covered belt using the dupion silk and embroidered organza.
