Weddings in old american style barns are something that I'm just loving at the moment. It's very easy to blend cute vintage elements with the rustic charm of old barns without making it too "country". Sadly these venues aren't too easy to come across in Brisbane, let alone Australia. I have seen a few in metal barns but that's just not the same in my opinion - nothing beats the charm of an old timber structure. This sort of venue isn't for everyone as you are pretty much subject to the elements - naturally you don't find air conditioned barns if you want something truly authentic but I think this just adds to the character of the space.
Polka Dot Bride has put together a list of Rustic Queensland Wedding Venues which is the best resource for barn wedding venues that I have come across - I know the Kenilworth Historic Homestead has a fantastic little space that one of my gorgeous brides, Jessie used for her wedding ceremony which is not too far from Brisbane.
