I recently had the pleasure of recreating an extremely rare (and very expensive if you were ever to get your hands on an original pattern which I just can't justify for such a straight forward design) McCalls Givenchy pattern that was modelled by none other than Audrey Hepburn.

Eve has chosen this timeless style to be her formal dress which I absolutely loooooove.... here's to young people who appreciate classic styling and steer away from the same old same old when it comes to formal styles (I myself went for a 50s inspired dress for my own formal many years ago - bucking the trend of long straight shift dresses and numbers full of synthetic chiffon).
This gown is quite deceptive from the front - featuring princess seams and a high bateau neckline but then at the back it becomes two shoulder straps that form a slight v shape and there is the most amazing detachable "cape" at the back along with a really cute bow detail. The dress can be worn with or without the back detail and I could imagine this gown with the detachable section turned into a long train for a really unique bridal gown... gorgeous!!
Her mum had some special dupion silk put aside in a gorgeous gold shot with purple and I hear she will be teaming it up with a purple petticoat - fabulous!...
