Recent Work: Betty dress in Cherry Blossom

Phew... what a busy time it is.... my maternity leave is fast approaching and I'm busy, busy, busy with the final custom bridal gown orders before then as well as planning a really exciting new event - The Vintage and Handmade Bridal Showcase along with Hermia's Wishes.   For more information on this event pop on over to www.thevintageandhandmadebride.com.

So this is what's going on in my work room at the moment... I'm just about to put the hem on a made to measure "1954 Oscars" dress order (don't mind the droopy bodice - with delicate organza straps it's hanging by it's hanging straps instead of the straps of the gown).  This design has been super popular over the last few months and I only have fabric left in the ivory and gold organza for one more order.... in a few weeks I have an order with it made up in ivory and silver so that will be exciting to see as a slight variation to the gown.

I have also just completed a made to measure "Betty" dress in Cherry Blossom.  This is such a cute colour and I would say is by far the most popular shade among my brides this year.  Keep your eyes posted for a custom variation of the "Audrey with sleeves" dress as well as a completely custom 50s design both in cherry blossom that I will be creating in the next few weeks.

Next to share will be images of a 50s style formal dress inspired by an extremely rare McCalls Givenchy pattern that has Audrey Hepburn modelling the design on the pattern packet.... it's very sweet!!.....
