Recent work: 1954 Oscars dress in Silver and Ivory

I recently had an order for my 1954 Oscars dress in a standard size in the silver / ivory embroidered organza option so I thought I'd take some happy snaps and share it all with you for those who aren't into gold (plus I only have very limited amounts available in the gold as the fabric is now discontinued).

Instead of placing it over a cream dupion silk, the bride and I chose to go with a more ivory shade in the magnolia dupion silk which I think looks absolutely stunning.

These shades are perfect for those with darker hair and a paler complexion whereas the gold / cream works best on blondes.

I just absolutely love this gown and the fabric and obviously so do many of my brides as I have had 4 orders of this gown in varying fabrics in the last month to complete!!

Is this gown your dream gown??? No problem just drop me a line to place an order.  It can be fully customised as well, for example I recently had a bride who chose to use plain organza and she changed the underbodice neckline to be a sweetheart instead of straight across.  You may love the bodice but want a different skirt or even a floor length skirt - no problem!!  You can email me directly at melanie@silversixpence.com.au
