Some of you may have read our little feature on Bella Stationery Studio recently - well here are some pictures of her very own wedding which incorporated her "Two Little Love Birds" range. She also was one of my brides as I created her custom fabric flower bouquets in shades to match her colour palette.
Our proposal:
Adam proposed to me on our 6 year anniversary. We planned a weekend away to the beautiful Macedon Ranges in Victoria. On the drive there we stopped at Sovereign Hill in Ballarat, which we visited on one of our first trips together 6 years ago. After having our photo taken dressed up in period costume at the photographic rooms, Adam got down on one knee and proposed! I will never forget the feeling; it was such a beautiful surprise.
Our Wedding:
We were married on Saturday 13th February 2010, after 7 years together. I chose my three younger sisters as bridesmaids, and Adam asked three of his best friends. Our ceremony was held at St Patrick’s Church in Lilydale, Victoria; a beautiful sandstone Church almost 125 years old. Our reception continued at Bram Leigh in Croydon, where we arrived in vintage Dodge stretched limousines.
As designer of Bella Stationery Studio, I wanted to create a one-of-a-kind stationery suite that reflected our story, personality and style on paper. Our ‘Two Little Love Birds’ theme captured the story of how we started dating; featuring a hand painted watercolour print and a bold colour palette.
Francesca of Bridal Flair styled our hair and did an amazing job! We were so happy with her work.
We opted for beautiful handmade fabric bouquets and button holes from Silver Sixpence. Each rose was individually hand crafted, and assembled into a beautiful posy. This added a special touch to our wedding styling, and reflected our creativity. I love that we can all keep our bouquets and button holes as a reminder of our wedding day.
Our cake was created by Alison Louise Designer Cakes in the Yarra Valley. We chose a white chocolate mud cake with raspberry ganache, made using fresh berries from the region. The detail of the cake was perfectly styled to the theme of our day. I purchased our cake topper from etsy seller www.rainsend.etsy.com which was sculpted by hand.
Our order of service booklets featured wedding photos from both our parents and grandparents, and our wedding cake bags were coupled with coordinating stickers. Each of our reception tables were named after birds, with the bridal table being Love Birds.
To continue our styling each chair was dressed with purple sashes, and ornate bird cages adorned the tables. Adam sourced the cages, and attached a perch with two little birds inside each one. He also hand crafted place card holders from branches we collected. He stained each one for a beautiful finish, and a special keepsake our guests to take home.
