Recent Work: New ready to wear gown, Lily, and ready to wear bolero

In the midst of my flurry of custom gowns at the moment I've managed to find some time to complete another gown as part of my ready to wear collection.  Again I haven't had the chance to set up my studio to photograph it and pop it on the store yet but I thought I'd share with you all a sneak peek of it with some work room happy snaps.

My latest gown is called Lily.  It is made from dupion silk and has really cute short sleeves, a slightly lower scoop neckline with princess seams on the bodice which are very flattering.  The skirt has a few soft pleats to give just a little fullness but not over the top and is a short 22" long skirt for those who want a shorter 60s style of dress.  Around the waist is a sewn in sash with a really cute bow detail on the front and I have also made a matching bow hair comb which is the exact size of the bow on the waist detail.  Lily is available in standard sizes for $525 or $875 made to measure, however like all of my ready to wear gowns, it is completely customizable for brides who would like to make changes here and there to make it their very own custom made to measure dress.

Also I have a sample of a simple bolero which is available in either dupion silk for $115 or duchess silk for $140 (standard sizes only).  This is a fabulous accessory for a 50s style gown whether it's a Silver Sixpence number or your very own dress.  I have a huge range of colours to match any shade.  These are also a really cute accessory for bridesmaids so they don't feel cool in the evening!

Today I'm starting work on another outerwear piece - this one is a fabulous 60s style coat that I created for a bride a few years ago who wore the sleeveless version of Audrey as her wedding dress.  It has 3/4 sleeves and is a longer line coat that has all of the fabulous retro styling.  It also looks awesome with a lovely vintage brooch....  As soon as I have it done I'll post some pictures and of course it will be on display at A Very Vintage Wedding Fair in a few weeks!
