Vintage Wedding Music: Tony Bennett Duets II

Ok... after much anticipation this new album of Tony Bennett singing swinging tunes with other famous musicians is finally out and of course I had to have it.

Now I'm a little biased on this aspect of weddings but I think you just can't go past some great jazz tunes as a soundtrack for a fabulous vintage inspired wedding.  Contemporary songs come and go but jazz tunes are just classics that stay popular over the years and it is a style that almost everyone can appreciate listening to in the background of your special day (or foreground if you are lucky enough to have an awesome jazz band!!)

I just love, love love Tony Bennett... there is always hype about Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack (who I also enjoy don't get me wrong) but Tony is just a living legend!  The Duets albums of his just have some classic tracks that could be used as reception music or even feature in your ceremony.

There is a lot of hype around his track with the late Amy Winehouse "Body and Soul" which is a fabulous song but in my opinion the real star of this album (apart from the wonderful Tony Bennett!) is Lady Gaga.... her version of "Lady is a Tramp" is so fun and swingy, I just love it!

For my swing dancing couples (and if you aren't but would love to be drop me a line and I'll point you in the right direction to get some lessons) there are great tracks like "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" with Michael Buble.

I will also do a special mention of his first Duets album (Duets: An America Classic) - it contains one of my absolute favourite songs - "For Once in my Life" with Stevie Wonder.... just beautiful - such a lovely song that it was part of my very own wedding ceremony.
